It's never once stated or implied in the show or supplemental material that zenkais completely stopped.

Posts: 478 Group: Member Member #5,351 Joined: October 23, 2010	Trunks was called a novice by Cell for not recognizing the flaw in USSJ earlier. Something that both Goku and Vegeta picked up on a lot quicker. Casual reminder that when Cell got frustrated with SSJ2 Gohan, he also went to a USSJ type form to try to overpower Gohan, but couldn't hit him. In terms of powers, Trunks was considered almost as strong as Vegeta post their 1st time in the ROSAT. When Vegeta and Trunks fought in the Cell Games, they were the only two people capable of defending themselves from the Cell Jrs. The Cell Jrs each said to be as strong as Initial Perfect Cell. That's still inferior to FP Perfect Cell, MSSJ Goku and MSSJ Gohan, but Trunks wasn't a complete chump. If Trunks did keep training in his future, then he very well could have defeated Dabura and have a PL comparable to Goku and Vegeta of that era.

And what about the time he was fighting Frieza in his base form? Which freza one shot gohan in first form. Which made everything confusion. Frost in his third Form is more powerful then Frezia is in his final form even after four months of training. Frost is more powerful then Frezia when you compare their four transformations. The only edge Frezia has over Frost is that the latter lacks an Golden Mode. Had Frost had that, he could have easily forced Goku to transform into a Super Sayian Blue. Frost is well above the level of Cell, Buu, and even post-revival Frezia outside of his Golden Form.

Future Gohan again a different case victim to plot however he was no weakling his base form could take on ssj trunks. The androids also toyed with Gohan seemingly till they decided to kill him. God tier seemed unattainable and rare, then Freeza, Cabba, Frost and Trunks do it on their own?
